Eldred began playing trumpet at the age of 12, and performing professionally at 17. Not long after graduating from the University of Hawaii, he moved to Seatle Washington, where he perfromed with The Harry James Tribute band and the Duke Ellington Tribute Band. After several years, Eldred moved to Las Vegas, where he performed regularly with numerous headliners. Among them were Martha Reeves, Frankie Valli, Trent Carlini, The Mills Brothers, Olga Breeskin, Clint Holmes, Little Anthony and the Imperials, and Jay-Z. After returning home to Hawaii in 2008, Eldred has continued his busy performance schedule by playing and recording with groups such as Manao Company, Sherriff Brown, Cas Haley, The Royal Hawaiian Band, The Latin Project, and Henry Kapono, and remains one of Hawaii’s most in demand trumpet players.
Eldred's Comments on his Global Brass Instruments:
"The Global Brass Trumpets are excellent. The tone of the trumpet is very focused and the core of the sound is rich and vibrant in all registers. Another outstanding quality is the intonation. These trumpets are dynamic and efficient. It is versatile enough to play loud and vibrant as well as soft and delicate. The trumpet is also capable of an extremely big upper register that maintains a rich, beautiful sound. The valve action on these horns is wonderful, the response is fast, and they have such incredible projection!"
"My first response after playing a Global Brass Flugel horn was “WOW!” It has the same characteristics of the Global Trumpets – excellent intonation, response and projection and a dynamic range. This flugel horn is so easy to play. Once you hear its beautiful tone you will realize this is what a flugel horn should sound like!"
